1. Overview & Privacy-First Design
SpinWheel360 (https://spinwheel360.com/) is built as a client-side web utility. Our core operating principle is minimal data collection: the options, names, and entries you add to the wheel are processed locally within your web browser.
2. Local Processing of Wheel Entries
When you type entries, upload a list via text import, or spin the wheel, all computations and physics simulations are executed strictly on your local device via HTML5 Canvas and JavaScript. Your entered options and spin results are not sent to, stored on, or inspected by our servers.
3. Local Browser Storage (localStorage)
SpinWheel360 uses your browser's local storage facility to save your current wheel state across visits so you do not lose your list when refreshing the page. This includes:
- Your current list of wheel options and weights
- Your active color theme and wheel title
- Your user preferences (sound volume, spin duration, dark/light color mode)
- Recent spin history recorded in your current browser
This data remains strictly on your device. You can clear this data at any time directly through the app (Settings → Data → "Reset All Data") or by clearing your browser cookies and site data.
4. Shared Wheel Links & URL Hashes
When you use the "Share Wheel" feature, the application serializes your current wheel list and theme into a URL hash fragment (e.g. #w=...).
URL fragments are handled exclusively by your browser and are never transmitted to web servers in HTTP requests. We do not store shared wheels in a remote database. When someone opens your shared link, their browser reads the hash fragment locally to recreate the wheel.
5. Uploaded Files
If you import options using a text file (.txt or .csv), the file is read locally using the standard browser FileReader API. The file is never uploaded to any remote server or external storage service.
6. Cookies & Third-Party Services
SpinWheel360 does not set tracking cookies or use third-party advertising tracking networks. We do not sell, rent, or monetize personal user data.
Like virtually all websites, the static hosting infrastructure that delivers our web assets may log standard network requests (such as visitor IP addresses, browser user agents, and request timestamps) in temporary server access logs for technical diagnostic, security defense (e.g. DDOS prevention), and uptime monitoring purposes.
7. Children's Privacy
SpinWheel360 is safe for classroom and family use. We do not require registration, create user accounts, or knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children or adults.
